Grand Central hotel
As the name suggests the Grand Central is in centre of the city, close to Barcelonas gothic cathedral. The hotel offers spectacular views of the entire Gothic district and the ancient city walls. It's on the main road of Via Laietana that runs parallel with the Ramblas with the heart of the gothic quarter sandwiched between them. Las Ramblas is a 6 minute walk as is the shopping around Plaza Catalunya and restaurants on the sea front.

The Grand central has only recently opened adding to Barcelona's collection of stylish and cool hotels. Expect simple lines, pronounced lighting effects and a good range of facilities. A main attraction has to be the rooftop "inifinty" surrounded by plenty of lounging space and providing fantastic views across the gothic quarter and city. There is also a reasonably well equipped gym and restaurant. There are 147 stylish and well equipped rooms
