It's unfortunate that this once glorious building has not been maintained as it should have been, making it a bit disappointing. If you get a good deal then it can offer good value for money, but it is often more expensive than better hotels in the area.
This hotel is housed in a traditional building which retains many of its original features, these include a sweeping staircase, grand hall and chandeliers. The corridors leading to the guestrooms are wide and bright with wood panelling. There are 53 rooms in total and all are comfortable with colourfully patterned bedspreads and rugs. The rooms have marble bathrooms and all are equipped with a good range of modern amenities. Other hotel facilities include a pleasant, ornate breakfast room where breakfast is served daily. There is also a television room and the hotel houses meeting rooms which can fit up to 100 people. In addition there is a large outdoor terrace area, (quite unusual for Barcelona) where visitors can relax after a busy day. Suitable for all types of travellers, the hotel has many interesting historic features that give it a feel of history, however it is showing its age and has lost some of its former glory/shine.
