The Royal Hotel opened in 1973 and is housed in a large, modern block-style building with lots of windows and large glass doors leading straight into the modern lobby. A small bar decorated in warm colours with some easy chairs in it can be found beyond the reception area. The guestrooms are moderate size for Barcelona and well decorated to modern standards, with tasteful upholstery and soft furnishings. The en-suite bathrooms are all marbled and fitted with bathtub and shower. It also has a cafe/bar, grill and breakfast restaurant, which offer an excellent variety of dishes, ranging from pizzas to grilled meats that are prepared in front of guests by the chef. The Royal provides good comfortable modern accommodation in an excellent location, right on the bustling Ramblas. It is very popular and receives a lot of positive feedback.
