As our trip to Barcelona was a sightseeing one, the hotel suited our needs completely as it was within easy walking distance of La Rambla. The bedroom and bathroom were comfortable and the standard of cleanliness couldn't be faulted. Breakfast was very satisfactory with good variety and, as it was self-service, one didn't go hungry! Members of staff with whom we had dealings were extremely obliging and accommodating. We had trouble with the air conditioning one evening, and a member of staff came to our room and didn't leave until he had solved the problem and the air conditioning was working once more. (The fault had been ours, to start with as we had opened a window, and didn't manage to close it firmly enough!) As the room was very quite and the air conditioning was very effective, we slept very well each night even though it was a warm week in July when we visited Barcelona. I have recommended this hotel to my sister who is planning a trip to Barcelona later in the year....that is recommendation enough!

The Bus Touristique is a MUST for sightseeing. If visiting the Sagrada Familia, go as early as possible in the morning (it opens at 9) as there is a queing system for the lift to the top of the cathedral.

The hotel was in an excellent location, very close to Las Ramblas, but in a quiet location overlooking a square, although some of the streets from Ramblas to the square were dubious.

So much to see, check out the official tourist website.

Being based a few minutes walk from Las Rambles this hotel is ideal for anyone who wants to be in the heart of the city but without the late night noice. The hotel is modern and clean with good facilities and the staff are incredable friendly and accomodating.
Top Tip
Rather than taking the bus tour we hire'd bikes from Budget bikes (just around the corner from the hotel) which due to most roads have cycle lanes it is a fun and safe way to see the city.

The hotel was wonderful and if it had been in a different location I would have no problem recommending it. The direct route to the Ramblas was going through Carrer de Hospital was a little scary - we had an incident of attempted bag snatching and therefore chose other routes which were longer to avoid Carrer de Hospital.
Top Tip
The tourist buses are excellent value- day ticket EUR 20,00 - two days was EUR 26.00 you can see everything and it takes you to all the places of itnerest, especially when you get tired later in the day, you can just sit down and still see the city. Take the lift up the Christoher Columbus Statue- fantastic view of the harbour and Ramblas area. The Market - just off the Ramblas is a must.

Excellent hotel, friendly staff. Spotlessly clean and good breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

We were 4 women travellers and felt perfectly safe. The best was to get to the hotel is by going down the Rambla and then walking straight up Carrer De L'Hospital - one of the other side streets did feel a little scarry although absolutely nothing happened to us.

Good value, friendly hotel. We were a party of 12 and had rooms throughout the hotel. Everyone was happy, rooms comfortable, good breakfast and a professional and helpful staff on reception.

Restaurant prices vary HUGELY. Anything on or near the Rambla is 50%-100% more. Also drinks on the Rambla are similarly costly (1/2 a litre of Lager is about GBP 6.00!!). But look around, some great resaurants at very good prices. If you enjoy architecture then the Gaudi houses of La Pedrera & Casa Batloo are a must, quite mindblowing!

Amaya Restaurant is really good but maybe pricey for some.
Don't bother eating inside the Castle up on the hill. Food sucks & there isn't much to see inside the castle.
